The Brief:

Save The Children wanted to make a picturebook for Rohingya children living in refugee camps in Bangladesh based on their reports. Our approach was to use the reports to write a story of belonging and letting go, through the lens of magical realism.

The Result:

As part of research, I visited the camps and used the practical demeanour and sparkling smiles of the children as inspiration for the illustrations. The book has was featured in NOW THIS news and has been and revered for being a window into a world where perseverance prevails.
