THE UNEXPECTED FRIEND - A Rohingya Children's Story

Commissioned by Save The Children, this picturebook was made for the children living in refugee camps in Bangladesh, for them to see themselves in a story of belonging and letting go.

I visited the camps as part of the research and it was truly encouraging to see the faces of the children at the learning centres. Their practical demeanour and sparkling smiles made me realise the strength and perseverance each one of us has from childhood.

This book has proved to be a great way to speak to children about social injustice and statelessness. It was featured in NOW THIS news and has been reviewed and revered by many readers.
